Zeus mountain tea

Named after the father of gods and men, ruler of the world, holder of lightning and thunder; “Zeus” flavour is made from selected plants of Sideritis Scardica variety, the original “Olympus Mountain Tea”. “Zeus” has a mellow taste of spring. It is extremely fragrant and has a special gentle aroma; refreshing and light leaving one with a smooth mouth feel.

Benefits

Notwithstanding it’s revitalising taste, Olympus Mountain Tea also has numerous health benefits. “Sideritis” denotes “he who is made of or has iron”. It is caffeine free, induces antioxidant as potent as Green Tea, has cellular defences, it is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial, gastro protective, helps lower blood pressure. Plus recent research has shown that Greek Mountain Tea, if taken on regular basis, helps to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s.

Hot to brew

There are a couple of ways to brew this tea.

  • Place one and a half cup of water in a saucepan, add to that a couple of leaves and flowers.
  • Let it boil for 7 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
  • Once the tea has steeped, gently pour it through a strainer into your cup and enjoy!
Alternatively
  • Place a couple of stems with their leaves and flowers in a teapot, add to that a cup and a half of boiling water.
  • Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
  • Once it is done steeping, strain into a cup.

Please remember not to let it boil or steep for too long, to ensure best organoleptic results. You may prepare a larger amount and leave it in the fridge and let the whole family enjoy it cold. This is particularly nice in the summer time as it will be cooling and thirst quenching!
